Q: What is the Earn Points System?
A: It is a new system that is implemented by our Management to encourage members to be actively involved in our projects, activities or events.
Q: Why is this Club using the Earn Points System?
A: One of the few basic principles of Economics is: "Rational human beings will respond to incentives." This is why we are applying economic concepts to our Club.
Q: How does it work?
A: Come to an event or join a team project and you will be rewarded with points for your participation.
Q: Is there a maximum number of points that one can collect?
A: There is currently no limitation on how many points you can collect.
Q: Is there a requirement minimum number of points that I should collect per semester?
A: No, there is currently no penalty or minimum number of points a member should collect per semester.
Q: Can I accumulate my points after one semester ends?
A: Yes, points can be accumulated and will only expire when the member terminates his or her membership.
Q: Is there any benefit of earning a lot of points?
A: Yes, your active involvement will be noted and therefore, certificates/rewards will be given at the end of each semester.
Q: I am busy this semester but I would like to help the club. What should I do?
A: Not a problem! You can still help us do small errands and still earn points per task. Just let us know that you are available to do errands for the Management Team and we will be happy to contact you whenever we need another helping hand.
Q: Can I transfer my number of points earned to another person?
A: No, the points should not, at anyhow, be transfered to another person.
Q: I am holding a position within the Club's Management Team. Can I join this Earn Points Programme?
A: No. To be fair, members of the Club's Management Team cannot accumulate points during their time of service.
Q: How do I know the number of points I have accumulated?
A: You can download the Excel file namelist from our website, which will be updated regularly each week.
Q: You have forgotten to add my points. What should I do?
A: Contact the Head of Internal Affairs by email and notify him/her that you have been to any activity/meeting/event. Please kindly include the date, time and place in your email.
Q: What is the Bring-A-Friend programme?
A: We encourage members to bring along their friends (non-member) to our Club's activities or events. In fact, members who brought their friends along will earn points! If they join our Club, you will earn more points as a thank you gift.
Q: I would like to bring my friend along on a fieldtrip. Is it possible?
A: Yes! Of course! We will be happy to bring along your friend. You are required to notify the person in-charge of the activity as soon as possible because there will be limited seats available for non-members per trip as priority will be given to our members first.
Q: I brought a friend to a club activity. How do I let the Management Team know that I brought a friend (under the Bring-A-Friend programme)?
A: First of all, THANK YOU for bringing a friend (non-member). To earn points under the Bring-A-Friend programme, you should notify our Club's Head of Internal Affairs or the person in-charge of the event/activity. Please take note that your friend must be present when you notified our Management Team.
